Did anyone ever notice that "Clap Your Hands" commercial on TV? I'm just so glad its finaly off the air. I just couldn't watch the commercial without cracking up. It makes me laugh because of Singapore. One day I got into a cab with two of my friends, and one of my friends had a bad backache, so he told the Singapore Cab driver to take us somewhere where you could get a good back rub. So the driver takes us to this place thats way of the beaten track, and then points at a staircase to go up. So...

I hit my teenage years in the early 80s about the same time VCRs and independent video rental shops came to every small town in America. This was before yogurt shops and tanning booths hit, and after most of the drive-ins and arcades had faded away, though my town had all five simultaneously. During that time I got turned on to couple of happenstance rentals now both cult classics. One was Evil Dead and another was the originalGone in 60 Seconds. It seems cult classic films follow a similar path as collectables. It couldn’t have appeared to have any value...

I guess I did a lot of stupid things when I was a Kid. But buying my Mom a battery powered vibrator, had to be at the top of the list of stupid things I did. Of course, I had no idea what I was buying her at the time. Well let me explain. When I was a kid, I would go to these auctions looking for things for my Science projects and everything was bid on so you knew how much it was going to be if you put a bid in on something. So that day I had...

The greatest city on earth has another reason to brag with the unveiling of the long-awaited public art project The Gates by artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Despite its popularity, some visitors feel the $21 million art installation is not art at all. Whether a work of art or spectacle, the orange flags strung like a ribbon throughout Central Park are sparking conversation and drawing in visitors by the subway load. According to the Central Park Conservancy, which sells official Gates merchandise at the Park’s entrance on 59th Street, 10 to 20 million people are expected to visit the park during...

A young beginner pupil is, indeed, an object for study, as well as a child to be taught. To a conscientious teacher a beginner pupil is a problem. In order to unfold that ability which is in the child, the teacher must first study what way to adopt in order to accomplish this unfolding in a worthy manner. The first line of attack, so to speak, is to gain the interest of this pupil. In so doing the teacher has caused a spark which might be "fanned" into a small flame of enthusiasm; and this in turn will make "power"...

Here is a case in point- 2004 was a strange, if not bad, year for movies. Now, I'm not talking about the quality of films, they were probably right on par. But, Hollywood has been growing scared. Scared to create films that fall away from standard conventions and afraid to try films that may tilt a couple heads or raise a few brows. If it wasn't for a few HUGE films in 2004, including some that distributors were afraid of, everybody may have felt that Hollywood was losing us. However, it seems that Hollywood is willing to turn a cheek...

Most people in America are busy with the details of achieving their goals and making their own place in the world. They have little time for themselves and don't want to spend it on some lost cause that most people don't care about. So it is with the injustice of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Even though most don't believe James Earl Ray killed Martin Luther King Jr. or at least not by him-self, they also don't have the time to try to figure it out. Some would say they just don't care; so what's the use of...
