The franchise builds on experiences of a character called Master Chief John-117, a supersoldier from the Spartan guild and his AI companion, Cortana. The name Halo is derived from the names of the Halo rings which are large and habitable super-weapons that were originally used to destroy Flood. The series has the following games, in the order of release, Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo 3: ODST, Reach, Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 4, Halo: Spartan Assault, The Master Chief Collection, Spartan Strike, Guardians and Halo Wars 2. Sketch comedy in stop motion is a pretty old concept with series like The Simpsons and South Park being some of the most recognizable in the genre. The appeal lies in the presentation of a dark concept in a sugar-coated manner, through cartoons, thus making the irony more poignant. One of the latest and most popular dark sketch comedy in stop motion is Robot Chicken. Robot Chicken This series was created and produced by Matthew Senreich and Seth Green along with co-writers, Douglas Goldstein and Tom Root. The writers also voice over as many of the characters and the show has won an Annie Award and four Emmys. Based on a humorous photo-comic strip that appeared in ToyFare:The Toy Magazine. The show is used to mock and parody popular culture like toys, relevant movies, TV shows, games as well as anime cartoons like other comedy shows. The show is created with stop motion animation for toys, clamation, action figures, as well as daily objects like tongue depressors and popsicle sticks. A core attraction is also derived from the placement of fantastical characters like Stretch Armstrong, Optimus Prime and Godzilla in everyday, humanistic situations.
